The location is very important to us as a group because we want it to be the first thing that views see that establishes the genre. Graveyards are very cold, shallow and moist places and often have a musky smell. They are full of old and new headstones and very big and mature trees that are blocking out sunlight. Graveyards give a creepy and intimidating feel which we are aiming to do in film.
The ideal location for our film will be shot in a graveyard. As a group we decided upon filming our film in a graveyard because a graveyard is an area for the dead and before a human transforms into a vampire they goes through certain stages and death is one of them. Because a transformation will be happening in our film, if we were to film it in a graveyard it will be indicating both death in the graveyard and the death that happens to a vampire during a transformation.
These shots that have been taken will be the exact spot we will be filiming our movie. We have decided to use this section of the graveyard because it is the older area of the graveyard and it gives the creepy and intimidating feel we are aiming for. Also in some of these shots, the lighting is very low and low key lighting oftern establishes the genre.
The graveyard we have chosen as a group is in heston. It's local to us and it would be no problem for us to meet up. Also the cemetry is the only graveyard thats open during night.
